MORITZ PILOT GOGGLES

Traditional flying pilot goggles look the part, but in terms of comfort, weight, safety and practical usage the Moritz are a great modern alternative.

In their basic form, Moritz are a highly fashionable pair of wrap-around sports sunglasses. Add the foam windshield insert, unclip the side arms and add the strap and you have a high-specification pair of goggles that are perfect for open cockpit flying.

The Frames

Moritz benefit from an incredibly tough frame, made from TR90, a plastic material that's superior to the more usually seen polycarbonate. The frames are shatterproof, and offer a superb level of protection in the event of an accident. Rubber side arm inserts and nose pieces ensure maximum comfort.

The Lenses

Rapid Eyewear's Frostech lenses feature an anti-fogging capability, thanks to a special coating applied to the inside surface. A mirror tinted finish ensures you will enjoy excellent levels of glare reduction. As with all Rapid Eyewear sport sunglasses, the Moritz have de-centred lenses, which means they have been calibrated to nullify the possible distorting effect of placing a curved lens in front of your face.

Moritz has Category 3 lenses fitted, a tint that can best be described as a 'standard' level of light filtering. The lens filters blue light, thereby improving depth perception and contrast in your field of view.

UV Protection and Conformity

Rapid Eyewear sunglasses conform to ISO 12311 and 12312 standards for sunglasses and protective equipment testing. They offer 100% UVA / UVB (UV400) protection.

Changing to 'Goggles' Mode

It couldn't be easier to change the Moritz from a pair of sports sunglasses into pilot eyewear. All you do is:

1. Unclip the side arms and pull them out
2. Attach the sturdy, wide head strap
3. Adjust the length of the strap to suit
4. Clip on the foam gasket

The Package

Moritz are supplied with a microfibre carry pouch which doubles as a cleaning cloth, and the retainer strap.
